For an extra tight room, a trundle-bed can be the answer for you. This idea will let you use every square inch of your room, vertically and horizontally. It has built-in safety metal guard rails and a perfect height to conquer your low ceiling. Our bed is the place we retreat to when we want to relax and have some downtime, it is so much more than a place we just sleep.
The height of the bunk bed matters the most: you need to be sure there will be at least two feet of spare space between the mattress and the ceiling, otherwise, your child could get hurt while getting up. When it comes to floor space, twin bunk beds don’t have to be larger than standard twin beds, unless you’ve decided to go for a trundle/L shaped beds, or such that have special features (pullout drawers, for instance).
